Any advice welcome, we are going skiing for a week in in feb 24, flying to Milan and driving to the resort, and are currently trying to decide between La Thuile and livigno, we are a family of 6, with 2 older teens and 2 younger teens, and they are all skiing for the 2nd time, confident husband and me not so much at all. Resort altitude of 1440m with access to 150km of pistes from 1175-2610m. Two areas to stay in: a modern lift-base resort and an older village. Old La Thuile’s Roman remnants and mining history are still in evidence. Ski lift links to the extensive ski area of the French resort, La Rosière. Have also had a week in La Rosiere and skiied over toLa Thuile most days, again nice and quiet, but cant comment on after hours in the resort. As you only have 2.5 days I would have a look at Grand Massive area, easy access from all resorts except Sixt , with 265kms of priste and only 1 hour from GVA, will give you lots of variety without
It's great to ski over to La Thuile from La Rosiere, often the snow conditions are completely different, La Thuile faces Morth primarily and La Rosiere faces south. The piste conditions are different as well, the Italian pistes are all beautifully prepared and make for superb cruising. Essentially La Thuile has three distinct ski areas, but it rKm19Q.
